Glass or acrylic picture frames: which to buy
Standard glass passes most of the ultraviolet in daylight. Standard acrylic, sold as plexiglass, blocks somewhat more as a property of the plastic. Neither is a UV-filtering product, and none of the frames here is.

Choose acrylic where weight or breakage matters: above a bed, in a child’s room, on plasterboard with modest fixings, or at any size beyond about 16 by 20. A large sheet of glass coming off a wall is genuinely dangerous.
