What Is in a Pokemon Elite Trainer Box
9 booster packs, 65 sleeves, a promo card, dice, a coin and a box to keep it all in. What each piece is for, and when a 6-pack Booster Bundle is the better buy.
This guide is research-led: we have not handled these units ourselves. If you buy through our links we may earn a commission — it never changes a pick. How we choose
Nothing here was opened. This page reads the contents The Pokémon Company publishes for each box against what owners report, as How we choose describes.
Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration Elite Trainer Box
Good fit A player who wants the anniversary set
Not for A collector who never plays
Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet - Surging Sparks Elite Trainer Box
Good fit A player who wants a set that is already established
Not for You cannot see who is selling it
Pokemon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together Booster Bundle
Good fit A child who opens and collects rather than plays
Not for A child building a deck to play
9 packs and a player’s kit are what the box holds
The Pokémon Company lists the contents of every Elite Trainer Box on its own product gallery, and the list barely changes between sets. This is the 30th Celebration box, launched 16 September 2026.
| Item | Count | What it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Booster packs | 9 | The cards themselves |
| Full-art promo card | 1 | An illustration of 30 Nidorina, number 30 in the Pokédex |
| Foil Basic Energy cards | 16 | Energy for building a deck |
| Card sleeves | 65 | Covers a 60-card deck with 5 spare |
| Player’s guide | 1 | A guide to the 30th Celebration set |
| Damage-counter dice | 6 | Tracking damage during play |
| Coin-flip die | 1 | Competition-legal, for coin-flip effects |
| Plastic coin | 1 | The same job, as a coin |
| Collector’s box with dividers | 1 box, 6 dividers | Storage for the cards afterwards |
| Pokémon TCG Live code card | 1 | A code for the free digital version |
Half of that list is equipment for playing. The dice, coin and 65 sleeves only matter to a child who sits down and plays a 60-card deck against someone.
The Energy cards change from set to set
The contents stay the same except for Energy. The 30th Celebration box carries 16 foil Basic Energy cards. The Mega Evolution—Perfect Order box, launched 27 March 2026, carries 40 Energy cards instead.
Neither changes the buying decision much. A player needs Energy to build a deck, and 16 foil cards look better while 40 go further.

A Booster Bundle is 6 packs and nothing else
6 booster packs from one set is the whole of a Booster Bundle, by The Pokémon Company’s own description. Against an Elite Trainer Box that is 3 fewer packs and none of the kit.
Pokemon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together Booster Bundle
4.5 across 799 ratings, 6 packs and nothing else, enjoyed for opening, with value the split.
Current price shown on Amazon. We may earn a commission.
| Packs | 6 |

| Accessories | None |
| Owners praise | Fun to open, pull rate |
4.5 across 799 ratings. Owners describe it as fun to open and are mostly happy with what comes out. Value is the split, and a group of owners report few rare cards across the 6 packs.

- A child who opens and collects rather than plays

The Pokémon Center box adds 2 packs, not on Amazon
The Pokémon Center edition of the 30th Celebration box holds 11 booster packs and 2 promo cards, one of them carrying the Pokémon Center logo. Everything else matches the standard box.
It sells through Pokémon Center, the company’s own store, not through Amazon. If a listing elsewhere claims to be the Pokémon Center edition, count what it promises against those 11 packs.
The sleeves fit a deck, not a collection
The 65 sleeves cover a 60-card deck with 5 spare, which is the right number for a player. A collector with 200 cards needs more sleeves and somewhere to keep them.
Card sleeves and storage covers which sizes fit a Pokémon card, and Pokémon TCG gifts compared ranks the Elite Trainer Boxes against the other gifts in the category.
