Buy 2 tapes, because gift tape cannot seal a box
USPS says to seal a parcel and reinforce every seam with tape 2 in wide: clear or brown packaging tape, reinforced tape or paper tape. It rules out cord, string, twine, masking tape and cellophane tape. Gift tape is the right tape for paper and the wrong one for a box.
